A Vengeful God

Gay Marriage Protest

Fred Phelps, leader of the cultish Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas, was recorded praising the London bombings as the manifestation of God's wrath against the prominence of homosexuality in Britain. For those familiar with Phelps, this was not a surprising nor unusual statement.

I encountered Phelps and his followers outside of the Cambridge City Hall on May 17, 2004 at midnight. That was the moment when gay marriage first become allowable in Massachusetts. You can see one of his followers, who travelled all the way from Kansas, in the picture on the right. As you can see, they also believe that God caused 9/11 and the Columbia explosion -- again, the motive was punishment for the tolerance of homosexuality.

Amen to the 1st amendment, but it sure does bring out the crazies, doesn't it?

I lost my pictures of these guys due to Microsoft's damned organizational structure.

"We're going to reinstall Windows, this will overwrite everything in your Windows directory. Is that ok?"

Uh, sure.

"Ok, done. By the way, the Desktop is technically in the Windows directory, all of your pictures are now gone."

I wish that had been clearer before I had said yes.

I was starting to think I had made up the part about Phelps' people stomping on an American flag that night. Thanks for posting the picture!

Being gay isn't a choice, they are born the way the are, it's a proven. like it's proven that God is a Myth. There are FACTS and Proof. The crazies are the ones who continue to worship and believe in something that isn't real. Why? because they're unstable and insecure with their lives. My guess is because they need something to believe in to keep their lives steady. haha, but If you want to get into religion, I thought God said thou shall not judge upon? thus judging won't be put on you. Now look what you've done.
