Reid and the Closed Session
Reid invokes the magical Rule 21 to put the Senate into a closed session to discuss the administration's handling of pre-war intelligence. I'm not sure what political or strategic end the Democrats are trying to achieve by doing this, but I like that they are finally showing off their true anger. With the indictments last Friday and the war as unpopular as it currently is, the Democrats have no excuse to not take advantage of the moment. The accusations against the government right now are very serious and are not without merit -- we should all be angrily demanding the truth.

my laptop died. i'm writing this from the apple store. it looks like i'll have to send it in. so that's why things have been slow. i'll be able to use lee's computer while i'm waiting, but right now i have to deal with this.

I just bought an external hard drive to hopefully avoid the problem of lost data in the future. They're not that expensive, you might want to consider getting one.
Really I should've just backed up my important data on a DVD, but I didn't. I think I have a backup from a year ago, but I'm not sure. Otherwise, I've lost some music (but I have my iPod w/ 40gigs) and some photos. Some important documents have been backed up on gmail in various places. Ugh.
