Matt Lauer confronts Bush on torture

Watch Matt Lauer confront Bush on the torture issue. Bush looks like he's going to sock Lauer in the face a few times, and then starts dodging the question. (via as)

What strikes me in this video is how close Bush stands to Lauer and flails his hands... he does like quite angry. Here's to Matt Lauer stepping up to the plate- I usually don't think of him as being a very tough journalist.

Sorry, I had a lot of grammatical errors in that last response.

it was a really weird way to set up an interview. Who ever does a prepared interview standing like that, with a steadicam? It's like matt cornered bush on his way to get milk and started questioning him. I imagine it was somewhat disorienting for both parties.

Wow do I hate our president. I guess Lauer sort of stepped up to the plate, but I'm not sure he really stuck Bush on anything- I get the sense Bush was pissed not because he really felt Lauer was close to the bone, but because he felt Lauer was not being properly respectful and deferential.
