The history of "Sheeeeeeet"
It looks like Isiah Whitlock Jr., who plays Clay Davis on HBO's The Wire, has used his trademark "Sheeeeeeet" on other projects. Slate links to two uses in Spike Lee's The 25th Hour, and wonders whose idea it was to port it The Wire.

Good stuff. He should do a one man show and travel around city to city. He could rant and rave about life, politics, etc. and punctuate every sentence with his catch phrase "sheeeeet" and then we would all cheer.
My dad has been using that catch phrase for years. Of course he rarely uses it rarely as he hardly ever swears. But get him good and frustrated and it comes out. I think my little sister, at the age of 4, pointed it out to my aunt, much to everyone's delight.
