Schwarzenegger backs gay marriage ruling
Governor Schwarzenegger backs the California Supreme Court's gay marriage decision and does not support the amendment to overturn it. Considering Romney's actions after Massachusett's similar ruling, Schwarzenegger is a liberal hero.

Schwarzenegger is a strange creature, is he not? They should make Twins II, with Bloomberg taking over DeVito's role. (I actually don't know that much about Schwarzenegger as gov, so I should probably state it in the form of a question: are there comparisons to be made between his politics and those of Bloomberg?)
Didn't he veto laws to establish gay marriage several times? I wouldn't call him a hero on this point.
Yes. It's actually kind of funny, as some conservatives are already criticizing this decision saying that the court shouldn't legislate from the bench. But the irony is that the legislature has already passed a gay marriage law twice! And Schwarzenegger vetoed them with the claim that we should wait for the court's decision. Conservatives have also been complaining about "unelected" activist judges, but the 6 of the judges were appointed by Republicans and all were later confirmed in elections.
If the voters of California vote against the gay marriage ban this November, conservatives will have absolutely no excuse, as the people, the legislature, the courts, AND the governor will all have been against it.
The "liberal hero" thing was a bit tongue in cheek, but compared to Romney, not really.
I'm pretty sure Bloomberg is less of a tool. Though I am extremely pleased with my state today.
